Friedrich Ludwig, actor (1820-1891) started his career in 1839 in Bruenn. 1843 he became a member of the Riga theater-ensemble, later he performed in Koenigsberg and at the Hofburgtheater in Wien. 1853 he became „wirklicher Hofschauspieler“.

Qing Dynasty Album Leaf Scholar and Girl.

Antique, Chinese ink painting. Album-leaf with elderly scholar reading a book and a young girl with her Qing Monochrome painting, only the censer painted in gold.

21 x 17 cm ( 29 x 23,5 cm with margins). Delicately executed.

The painting itself is clean and in good condition. The silk-coated margins show some aging but can be easily covered with a passepartout.
