German Art Nouveau Postcard by Lina von Schauroth

 

Exciting Art Nouveau postcard promoting the import-exhibition in Frankfurt in 1919.

Lithographed using the colors blue, green gold and black only. Very powerful design. Used as postcard in Germany in 1919. Good condition. Lina von Schauroth, b. Holzmann (1874 - 1970 ) was an artist and artisan from Frankfurt. She became famous for her designs of glass-windows and mosaics used in public buildings. During the 2 wars she engaged in social-politic welfare, later she engaged in animal welfare.

The upper 2 corners are fixed on cardboard. Size: 6 x 9,4 inches ( 15,4 x 23,7 cm).

Good condition, ready for being matted and framed.

1898: 2 lithographs with Eggs of European Birds. Colorful Chromo lithographs depicting 104 eggs by birds from Europe.

Size: 12 x 9,5 inches, each. Vertical folds, good condition. Broad margins, vivid colors. They look great when matted and framed.

The lithographs have been printed by Bibliographisches Institut Leipzig. Litho by Meyers Germany 1898. Horizontal centerfolds.

Decorative Japanese postcard from app. 1918. It depicts Japanese soldiers and corpsmen under a Japanese flag.

Some writing at the reverse but not postally used. Fine condition, scarce.
